Aeschynanthus 'Twister' sends out trailing stems lined with small spiralled leaves, creating a more animated, wiry silhouette than flatter-leaved lipstick plant types. It was selected as a mutation from 'Rasta', but the foliage twist is looser and the overall effect feels lighter, especially once red tubular flowers begin to appear. Stems generally reach 40–60 cm, which makes it easy to use on a shelf edge or in a hanging container.
Strong blooming depends on bright indirect light and a gentle dry-down between waterings, not on permanently wet compost. An airy substrate, steady warmth above 18 °C, and moderate humidity keep it compact, while low light or cold quickly lead to lankier growth and fewer buds. It is also regarded as non-toxic to pets and easy to propagate from stem cuttings.
