Agave parryi subsp. neomexicana forms a compact, blue-green to glaucous rosette with dark marginal spines and a strong, flat-topped outline that stays tidy in a pot for years. Mature plants are usually manageable indoors at about 35–45 cm tall and 40–60 cm across, and older clumps may slowly produce offsets rather than racing upward. That restrained growth, plus its tolerance for dry air and cooler conditions, makes it a very practical long-term agave for bright rooms or conservatory-style setups.
Give it maximum light, a sharply draining mineral substrate, and thorough watering only after the mix has dried out fully.
In cooler months, keep it almost dry. Like other Parryi forms, it is monocarpic at the rosette level, but offsets often keep the plant line going. Sharp spines and irritating sap mean it is better kept away from pets, children, and narrow shelves.
