Alocasia macrorrhizos var. variegata combines scale with broad creamy white marbling, so each massive leaf reads like a painted panel rather than ordinary foliage. It can become imposing even indoors, forming a thick upright clump with leaves large enough to dominate a bright room or conservatory. The appeal is not only the variegation but the way that pattern sits across broad shield-like blades on substantial stems. Strong filtered light helps the pale sectors remain viable, while direct harsh sun can damage them quickly. A coarse, well-aerated mix is essential because large variegated plants are especially unforgiving of root stagnation.
Keep moisture even, provide warmth and humidity, and use a stable pot, because once this form starts sizing up it becomes both heavy and visually commanding.
