Alocasia âPollyâ gives you dark arrow-shaped leaves, thick white veins, and a compact upright habit in a form that fits ordinary homes far better than larger elephant-ear types. It usually stays within about 30â50 cm indoors, but the dense, scalloped foliage makes it look more dramatic than its size suggests. This cultivated Amazonica-line selection performs best in bright indirect light, where the contrast stays crisp and growth remains short-jointed and tidy.
Keep the substrate lightly moist rather than wet, let the upper layer dry before watering again, and avoid cold drafts that can trigger yellowing and stalled growth. It is a practical choice when you want high contrast and strong structure without committing to a giant Alocasia or the upkeep that comes with one.
