Alocasia reginae stays compact, usually around 20–30 cm tall, but still carries thick leathery blades and violet-speckled petioles that give it unmistakable species character and quiet poise. Leaves are broad, dark green, and subtly lustrous, with enough substance to feel regal without becoming heavy.
It comes from Borneo and prefers steady warmth, moderate to high humidity, and an airy moisture balance typical of compact rainforest aroids. Bright filtered light helps the foliage hold its colour and shape, while a loose mix with bark and perlite keeps the rhizome active without suffocating it. Water when the upper layer begins to dry and avoid abrupt cooling, because small jewel Alocasias often lose momentum quickly under cold or soggy conditions.
