Alocasia scabriuscula forms a strong mid-sized clump with thick sagittate leaves that can look grey-green, olive, or faintly purple depending on age and light, while the speckled petioles add just as much character as the blades. Indoors it usually reaches about 80 – 100 cm tall with a spread around 50 – 70 cm, giving the plant real presence without becoming unmanageable.
Bright filtered light, steady warmth, moderate to high humidity, and an airy but moisture-retentive aroid mix help it hold firm foliage and cleaner edges.
Water once the upper layer begins to dry rather than keeping the pot constantly wet, and remember that all parts contain calcium oxalate and are unsafe if ingested by pets or people. Stable warmth and moisture matter more than force-feeding.
