Alocasia sp. Papua is an undescribed species from Papua New Guinea with pronounced posterior lobes and clearly visible secondary venation, so the leaf outline and surface structure are easy to read even at a glance. Indoors it usually reaches about 60 – 90 cm, forming a substantial but not oversized plant that suits collectors interested in material still sitting between field identity and formal description.
It prefers bright indirect light, warm temperatures around 18 – 27 °C, high humidity, and a moisture-retentive but well-aerated aroid mix that never stays swampy. Like other Alocasia it can slow or partly rest in cooler periods, and because it contains calcium oxalate it should be treated as toxic if chewed or ingested. Stable warmth matters here.
