Amydrium medium is a fast-climbing aroid with glossy textured leaves that begin simple and later develop fenestrations, making it appealing to growers who enjoy clear foliage progression over time. Given a moss pole or trellis it grows with real enthusiasm, using aerial roots to attach and producing more mature-looking leaves than plants left to trail loose from a pot. Bright indirect light, warm temperatures, moderate to high humidity, and a chunky substrate with good drainage help it move quickly without the yellowing and root stress that come from wet, stagnant soil.
It contains calcium oxalate and should be kept away from pets and children, but for indoor climber collections it offers a noticeably different leaf language from the more familiar Monstera types.
