Anthurium esmeraldense is defined by length. Its pendulous, semi-leathery leaves can exceed a metre, creating vertical foliage without the heavy segmentation or upright bulk of other large Anthuriums. Because the plant is epiphytic to semi-climbing in habit, it works especially well on a high stand or where leaves can drape freely without folding.
Bright filtered light, high humidity around 70–90%, and temperatures between 18–27°C support steadier growth. Use a very open mix with bark, sphagnum, and perlite so roots stay moist and oxygenated, then water before the substrate dries hard but never while it is stagnant. The plant is mainly about line and length rather than surface texture.
Like other Anthuriums, it contains calcium oxalate and should be kept away from pets and children.
