Aphelandra squarrosa 'Curly White' gives classic zebra-plant contrast a more animated look, with dark green leaves marked by bold white venation and slightly curled margins that add movement to the whole plant. Even when it is not in flower, the foliage reads strongly from a distance, which makes it useful as a compact statement plant rather than a filler.
When mature, it can also produce yellow bracted blooms that sit clearly above the patterned leaves and add another layer of interest.
For growers who like bold leaf graphics but want something neater and more contained than many tropical shrubs, this cultivar is an easy standout.
