Begonia 'Boomer' is a large rhizomatous hybrid with broad, rough-textured leaves in deep green edged by dark burgundy, giving it more mass and weight than most tabletop begonias. As the rhizomes extend, the plant can become a real specimen rather than a compact accent, so it suits growers who have room for lateral spread and want one plant to carry a display.
Keep it in bright indirect light, use a loose organic mix that drains well but does not dry out too fast, and maintain even moisture with humidity high enough to prevent the leaf edges from crisping. Regular removal of older foliage keeps the crown cleaner and channels energy into new leaves. The hybrid background shows in its vigour: given warmth and space, it builds oversized foliage much more readily than smaller, more delicate rhizomatous types.
