Begonia masoniana 'Rock' keeps the iron-cross pattern and bullate texture of the species group, but remains more compact and grounded than larger forms such as 'Mountain'. The leaves are rugged, puckered, and bold enough to read clearly even on a small plant, which makes this selection especially useful for shelves, terrariums, or cabinet displays where height is limited.
Bright indirect light supports the markings without scorching the surface, and a shallow pot with a loose, moisture-balanced substrate suits the rhizomatous habit better than a deep container. Keep humidity up, let the surface dry slightly between waterings, and trim away tired leaves to preserve airflow around the crown. It is a practical choice when you want the sculptural appeal of an Iron Cross begonia but in a tighter footprint that stays easier to place and manage.
