Begonia rex 'Jive' is a compact rex hybrid with velvety foliage in luminous green tones bordered by deep burgundy to purple, creating a strong colour edge around a relatively small mound of leaves. It usually stays around 30–40 cm tall and wide, making it useful for shelves or grouped displays where you want bold pattern and texture without a large footprint.
Bright indirect light keeps the colour clearer, while too much sun quickly damages the thin leaf surface. Water when the top layer begins to dry, use an airy mix that drains well but never swings between swampy and bone dry, and provide humidity above average without splashing the foliage repeatedly.
Stable moisture and good airflow matter more here than heavy feeding, and like many rex begonias it is toxic if ingested.
