Begonia maculata 'White Ice', also known as 'Cane Hotspot', keeps the upright cane framework of maculata but pushes the spotting brighter, with white-silver marks and frosted margins that stand out even from a distance. It is also notably vigorous, so the plant fills out faster than many decorative cane begonias if warmth, light, and pruning are handled well.
Place it in bright indirect light, use a loose substrate with reliable drainage, and water once the top of the mix has dried slightly rather than keeping it constantly wet. Humidity in the mid range is usually enough to keep the leaves clean, and regular feeding during active growth helps support the strong cane production. Because it grows with real momentum, occasional pruning is less about rescue and more about shaping a fuller, more balanced specimen before the lower stems start to stretch.
