Caladium 'Candidum' is a classic white caladium with broad heart-shaped leaves marked by strong green veining, creating a very clean, graphic contrast that reads clearly even in mixed plantings. It grows from tubers into a seasonal clump that can reach roughly 60–70 cm tall during active growth, then naturally dies back as dormancy begins in cooler periods.
Bright filtered light keeps the white blades luminous without scorching them, while humidity above about 60% and evenly moist but well-aerated substrate help the foliage stay fresh. Avoid direct sun, soggy soil, and cold conditions, especially once growth slows.
Tubers can be stored dry and replanted in spring, and like all caladiums the plant contains calcium oxalate, so it is toxic if ingested, even though the palette looks especially clean and light.
