Davallia tyermannii is the rabbit's foot fern grown as much for its white furry rhizomes as for its finely divided green fronds. Those creeping rhizomes spill over the edge of a pot or mount and give the plant a character many ferns never achieve, which is why it works so well in hanging baskets, mounted displays, and other setups where the base remains visible. The fronds themselves stay soft and light, so the plant never feels heavy or bulky even when mature.
Keep the substrate loose and airy, let it stay lightly moist rather than wet, protect the exposed rhizomes from constant sogginess, and provide decent humidity, and it remains pet-safe, textural, and far more memorable than a standard shelf fern.
