Delosperma echinatum is the bristly succulent that looks half pickle and half plush toy, with hairy leaves packed along semi-trailing stems in a way that makes the whole plant feel both odd and charming. Even when it is not blooming, the texture alone gives it real presence in sunny windows, shallow bowls, and mixed dry-climate displays. In strong conditions it can also add small yellow daisy-like flowers, which only make the plant look more eccentric without changing its easy-care nature.
Full light, dry air, a gritty fast-draining mix, and watering only after proper drying are what keep it compact and firm, while weak light or excess moisture quickly turn it soft, stretched, and far less interesting.
