Dracaena angolensis is a slow-growing succulent from Angola with thick cylindrical leaves held upright in a fan-like formation, giving it a bundle-of-spears look. Most indoor plants stay around 40–60 cm tall for a long time, which makes it useful where you want sculptural structure without fast overgrowth.
Bright indirect light keeps the leaves firmer and the banding clearer, but the plant also tolerates lower light as long as watering is reduced. A sharply draining mix with pumice, sand, or perlite is essential, and the substrate should dry completely between waterings to prevent rot.
Dry indoor air is not a problem, feeding can be light and infrequent, and offsets or rhizome divisions provide the easiest propagation. Flowering is possible but uncommon indoors.
