Dracaena draco is a slow-growing dragon tree valued for its thickening trunk, blue-green sword-shaped leaves, and increasingly sculptural silhouette. In containers it stays far smaller than old outdoor specimens but still develops the same architectural character, with rosettes held at the tips of stout branches.
It prefers very bright light and can take some direct sun once established, while watering should only happen after the upper few centimetres of substrate have dried. A sharply draining mix with coarse mineral content, dry moving air, and temperatures around 18–27 °C help prevent root problems. Yellowing or soft growth usually points to excess moisture. With patience, it becomes one of the most dramatic trunk-forming Dracaena for long-term indoor or warm-climate container culture.
