Dracaena fragrans 'Janet Craig' is a classic plain-green corn plant cultivar grown for broad glossy leaves and a steady upright habit rather than strong variegation. Indoors it can eventually reach around 1.2–2 m, though growth is slow enough that it remains easy to manage for years, and the dark foliage gives strong presence even in moderate light. It tolerates lower light better than many striped cultivars, but bright indirect light produces the healthiest growth.
Let the top 2–4 cm of substrate dry between waterings, use a well-draining mix with added bark or perlite, and keep temperatures around 18–24 °C. Older leaves naturally shed from the base, exposing ringed canes over time.
Brown tips are often linked to fluoride or dry air, and the cultivar should be kept away from pets.
