Dracaena fragrans 'Malaika' produces wide glossy leaves with creamy white to pale yellow margins around a green centre, giving the plant a bright softened look without heavy striping. Indoors it usually stands about 80–120 cm tall, though older plants can become larger and more tree-like as older leaves drop and the canes show.
Bright indirect light supports the clearest variegation, while the substrate should dry about 4–5 cm down between waterings to keep roots healthy. A mix with compost, bark, and perlite suits it well, and temperatures around 18–26 °C with ordinary room humidity are generally enough. Brown tips are often linked to salts or dry air, while soft stems point to rot.
This cultivar can be propagated from cane or top cuttings and is toxic if pets ingest it.
