Dracaena trifasciata 'Black Diamond' is a darker snake-plant cultivar with near-black to deep green leaf centres framed by a slim yellow edge. The contrast stays cleaner and more tailored than in broader yellow-margined forms, which gives it a sharper, moodier presence in simple pots and modern interiors.
Indoors it usually reaches about 40–70 cm, building a firm upright clump that tolerates crowding at the roots. Bright indirect light deepens the colour, though shade is tolerated, and watering should be sparse, only after the mix has dried completely. A gritty cactus substrate and warm conditions around 18–27 °C suit it best.
