Epiphyllum 'Frühlingsgold' is an orchid cactus hybrid grown for long, flattened, arching stems and large creamy-gold night flowers that open briefly but make a strong spring display on mature plants. The stems can trail or cascade from a hanging pot, and unlike desert cacti this hybrid prefers an epiphytic approach: bright filtered light, a loose bark-rich substrate, regular airflow, and moisture that stays even without becoming heavy or stagnant. Flowers can reach about 15–20 cm across and are mildly fragrant, with ruffled petals and a paler throat that gives the bloom extra depth.
A cooler, drier winter rest around 12–15 °C helps bud formation, while active plants grow best around 18–25 °C. It performs better when roots can breathe between thorough waterings.
