Fenestratarum culum is a very rare Bornean rheophytic aroid with narrow glossy leaves only about 5 mm wide, arching from D-shaped petioles in stiff elegant curves. Despite belonging to Araceae, it reads almost like an ornamental grass at first glance, which is part of its appeal to collectors focused on unusual growth forms.
In habitat it grows along rocky stream margins with constant water movement, and that background explains its cultivation needs: bright indirect light, constant moisture without stagnation, high humidity, warmth around 22–28 °C, and a mineral-rich airy substrate that never compacts. It is not a forgiving houseplant for casual care, because both dryness and stale wetness can cause rapid decline. Growth is slow and still poorly documented in cultivation, making it best suited to experienced growers with controlled humid conditions.
