Ficus benjamina 'Kinky' is a compact variegated weeping fig with fine branching and small leaves edged in cream, giving it a lighter, brighter look than plain green benjamina forms. Indoors it can function as a compact shrub or small tree, but the key to keeping it full is consistency rather than constant adjustment.
Bright indirect light suits it best, a little gentle sun can help, and watering should be thorough but followed by a slight drying period rather than keeping the root ball wet. Sudden changes in light, temperature, or placement can trigger leaf drop, so it does better when given one bright stable position and left there.
Light pruning can maintain a bushier shape, and any strong all-green shoots should be removed early to preserve the variegated look. Like other Ficus, the white sap can irritate skin and the plant is not pet-safe if chewed.
