Ficus lyrata is an indoor tree grown for oversized violin-shaped leaves, strong vertical form, and the sense of scale it brings even in a single pot. Mature indoor plants often carry leaves around 30–45 cm long and can eventually reach roughly 1.8–3 m, depending on light, pruning, and root space, so this is a long-term specimen rather than a temporary accent.
Bright indirect light is essential, with some gentle direct sun tolerated once acclimated, and watering should wait until about the top quarter of the mix has dried. A loose airy substrate with bark, perlite, and moisture retention helps balance drainage with even hydration, while warmth around 18–27 °C and stable conditions reduce leaf drop. Brown blotches or yellowing usually reflect root stress, wet soil, or cold, and like other Ficus, the sap can irritate skin and is unsafe if chewed.
