Ficus reflexa is a lesser-seen fig with neat glossy leaves and a bushy, adaptable habit that can be trained as a compact indoor shrub, a larger specimen, or even a bonsai-style plant with regular pruning. In warmer, more humid conditions it may also produce aerial roots, reflecting its partly epiphytic nature in the wild.
For home growing, bright indirect light is ideal, though it tolerates some softer shade if you accept slower growth and a looser shape. Water when the top layer of the substrate has dried, use a rich but draining mix, and keep temperatures warm while avoiding sudden cold drafts that can trigger leaf drop. Like many Ficus, it produces an irritating sap, so pets, children, and sensitive skin should be considered when deciding where to place it.
