Hoya Potting Mix

Use this mix when Hoyas sit in dense compost for too long or show classic overwatering symptoms despite careful watering.

• Pots: always use containers with drainage holes; cachepots should be emptied after watering so the inner pot does not stand in water.
• When to repot: repot when roots coil tightly, soil stays wet for several days or the plant has clearly outgrown its container.
• Prepare the plant: gently remove the plant from its pot, shake off loose soil and rinse roots with lukewarm water.
• Trim damage: remove dead or rotten roots and any failing leaves with clean scissors.
• Planting: add a base layer of Hoya Potting Mix, position the plant and backfill around the roots, keeping the root base covered but not buried deeply.
• First watering: water thoroughly after repotting so the mix settles around the roots, then allow the substrate to dry partially before the next watering.
• Ongoing watering: check moisture with a finger rather than watering on a fixed schedule; Hoyas generally prefer to dry a bit between waterings.
• Light: bright, indirect light usually gives the best growth and flowering; direct, intense sun can mark leaves.
