Hoya nicholsoniae 'New Guinea Ghost' softens this already attractive species into a cooler, more muted foliage plant, with leaves that carry a pale silver-green cast and a ghosted finish rather than strong splash or sharp contrast. That subtle colouring makes it particularly good in brighter interiors where harsher white variegation might feel too loud. It still behaves like a useful climbing Hoya, taking well to hoops or trellises and developing a relaxed but not messy structure over time.
Mature plants can also reward you with softly scented umbels, which means the plant does not stop being interesting once the leaves have been admired. Bright indirect light, airy substrate, and measured watering are enough to keep it moving well.
For growers who prefer cool-toned foliage and understated rarity, 'New Guinea Ghost' feels sophisticated rather than showy.
