Hoya pubicalyx is one of the best starter Hoyas because it grows fast, adapts easily, and still gives you everything people want from the genus: long elegant vines, occasional silver speckling, and generous umbels of fragrant star flowers in shades from pink to deep red. It is flexible enough to be trained up a trellis, looped around a hoop, or left to spill from a hanging pot, which makes it useful in almost any indoor setup with good light. Even when not in bloom, the long dark leaves and reddish new growth keep the plant attractive and active-looking.
