Hoya kaikoeana, often traded as Hoya sp. 'Dahlia', is a compact Bornean species with narrow bronzy leaves and creamy flowers, giving it a look that sits somewhere between delicate and tough. The foliage is slimmer and more refined than on many broad-leaved Hoyas, but the plant still grows with enough confidence to work well on a small trellis, hoop, or hanging display without feeling fussy.
It thrives in bright indirect light, warmth, and an open barky mix that dries quickly but not harshly, which helps it keep its tighter internodes and richer colouring. For collectors building a more regional Borneo or Kalimantan group, or for anyone who wants a tidy Hoya with a slightly wilder species feel, kaikoeana offers excellent form without demanding extreme conditions.
