Hoya 'Sunrise' is a cultivated hybrid of Hoya lacunosa and Hoya obscura, combining compact vines, pointed leaves, and fragrant creamy flowers in one manageable plant. Its foliage is green in lower light but can flush red to maroon under stronger indirect light as anthocyanin pigments build, giving the whole vine a warmer, more saturated look without changing its basic growth habit. It can be grown trailing or on a support, and the short internodes help it stay tidy compared with lankier Hoyas.
Bright indirect light, a loose bark-rich mix, and watering once the upper layer has dried suit it best, while average indoor humidity is usually enough. Steady warmth around 18–26 °C supports both leaf colour and repeat flowering, and mature plants reward patience with scented umbels.
