Hoya versteegii is a Papua New Guinea species with large slightly rippled ovate leaves and neat umbels of small white flowers, combining strong foliage with approachable indoor performance. Vines grow steadily and can be trailed or trained on a support, while the leaves have enough size and texture to hold their own even when the plant is not in bloom.
Bright indirect light, a chunky bark-perlite-coir substrate, humidity around 60–80%, and partial drying between waterings help it stay firm and well rooted, while temperatures around 18–26 °C keep growth consistent. It is adaptable enough for collectors and less specialized growers alike, especially because it roots readily from stem cuttings and handles semi-hydro conditions if aeration stays high.
Hoya versteegii works well as a bridge between foliage-focused and flower-focused species in a broader Hoya collection.
