Nephrolepis exaltata 'Boston Blue Bell' is built around graceful arching fronds and a soft blue-green cast that gives it a slightly cooler, more elegant feel than plain green Boston fern forms. Because it stays moderately compact and drapes well, it is especially useful in hanging baskets, shelf edges, or bright humid rooms where you want texture and movement rather than a dense upright clump. It is also pet-safe, which makes it much easier to use in shared living spaces than many tropical foliage plants.
Like most ferns, it dislikes full drying, stale hot air, and harsh direct sun, but otherwise it is not difficult: keep the soil lightly moist, humidity decent, and the fronds clean.
For growers wanting a softer-toned fern that still reads classic and lush, 'Boston Blue Bell' brings a slightly cooler twist to a familiar format.
