Oceaniopteris gibba, formerly sold as Blechnum gibbum and often called Silver Lady Fern, develops a slim upright trunk topped with arching, finely divided fronds, giving it a miniature tree-fern habit that stays usable indoors. Native to humid Pacific forests, it prefers the same conditions in a pot: bright filtered light, consistently moist but airy substrate, and humidity above about 60% if you want clean fronds and fewer dry tips.
Mature indoor plants can reach roughly 1–2 m, though the trunk forms gradually rather than all at once. Keep temperatures between 18 and 28 °C, avoid cold drafts, and use rainwater or filtered water if tip browning is a problem.
It is non-toxic and works well where soft structure matters more than heavy foliage or coarse leaf texture.
