Opuntia microdasys var. albispina keeps the same compact bunny-ear form as typical O. microdasys but replaces the warmer glochid colour with a denser white covering that reads almost frosted in strong light. Each pad stays simple and upright, so the plant builds a high-contrast clump of pale dotted ovals rather than a sprawling cactus mass, usually reaching around 30–50 cm indoors.
Despite the soft appearance, the white glochids are barbed and easily detached, which means careful handling still matters. Full sun or very bright light is essential for a dense, compact shape, together with a fast-draining cactus substrate and deep but infrequent watering only after the soil has dried through. It suits bright, dry spots where a small sculptural cactus has more impact than foliage.
