Pachira aquatica is an indoor tree grown for glossy palmate leaves and a clean upright habit, often with several young stems braided together to create the fuller sculptural base most people recognize as a money tree. In nature it comes from warm wet lowlands, but in a pot the roots still need oxygen, so the best setup is an airy mix that holds some moisture without staying waterlogged.
Bright indirect light keeps it fuller, while moderate light is tolerated with slower, looser growth; mature indoor plants usually reach around 1.5–2.5 m over time. Water thoroughly once roughly the upper quarter of the substrate has dried, then let excess drain away completely. Average room humidity is usually fine, and light pruning can improve shape if stems start stretching.
