Peperomia 'Quito' is a compact caperata-type cultivar with rippled leaves in copper-orange to reddish brown tones on both surfaces, giving it a warm metallic look. The growth remains dome-shaped and dense, usually around 18–20 cm tall, so it creates a strong focal point without needing much space.
Bright, indirect light keeps the colour richest, while a loose, peat-free substrate and moderate watering help protect the shallow roots from rot. Let the top of the mix dry before watering again and keep the plant warm and away from cold drafts.
Because the leaves are corrugated and semi-succulent, they hold both texture and colour all year. It suits growers who want warm-toned foliage and a sculptural habit in small spaces, with none of the sprawl of a trailing plant.
