Philodendron 'Congo Rojo' is a self-heading hybrid with broad, spear-like leaves that open in warm copper, maroon, or deep red tones before maturing to glossy dark green with burgundy influence. Unlike climbing philodendrons, it builds a dense rosette from the centre, so the plant stays compact, upright, and easy to manage without support. Mature indoor plants often reach around 60–100 cm tall and wide, which gives them real presence in larger pots or statement planters.
Bright, indirect light helps preserve the warm colour in new leaves, while an airy aroid mix and watering after the upper layer dries keep the roots healthier than constant moisture ever will. Humidity around average to moderate-high works well.
It is toxic if ingested and especially suited to growers wanting deep colour on a strong self-supporting plant.
