Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Queen', also sold as 'Silver Sword', is a vigorous climber with long spear-shaped leaves covered in a cool metallic silver-blue sheen that stays readable even from a distance. Juvenile leaves are usually greener and shorter, but with height and support the blades narrow and elongate into the classic sword form that gives the plant its common name. A moss or fibre pole makes a real difference here, because it tightens internodes and improves leaf size.
Bright, indirect light, watering after the top 2–3 cm of substrate has dried, and a loose bark-and-coir mix keep the roots moving without compaction. It prefers 18–27 °C, humidity around or above 60%, and regular but modest feeding.
Like other philodendrons, it contains calcium oxalate and should not be chewed by pets or children.
