Philodendron erubescens 'New Red' is a scandent cultivar selected for strong red tones in stems, petioles, and especially the undersides of the leaves, which keep colour interest even after the blade itself matures green. New foliage opens darker and redder than in standard red erubescens forms, then gradually settles into deep green above while the undersides remain noticeably flushed. It climbs quickly with support and responds well to a moss pole, which helps the plant stay upright and size up.
Bright, indirect light, watering once the top 2–3 cm of substrate has dried, and an airy mix with bark, coir, and perlite suit it well. It grows best around 20–28 °C with humidity from 60–80%. Like other philodendrons, it contains calcium oxalate and is toxic if ingested.
