Pilea ovalis 'Moon Valley' is grown for its cratered, highly puckered leaves, which combine bright green surfaces with darker coppery veins in a pattern that really suggests a miniature lunar landscape. The plant stays compact and bushy, usually around 20–30 cm tall and wide, so it fits easily on desks, shelves, and windowsills while still delivering strong texture.
Bright, indirect light keeps the colour contrast sharper, though medium light is usually tolerated. Water after the top portion of the substrate has dried, use a light, well-draining mix, and avoid soggy conditions that quickly damage the roots in compact pots.
Moderate humidity and stable warmth suit it best, regular pinching encourages denser growth, and the non-toxic foliage makes it easy to place in pet-friendly homes or terrarium-style groupings.
