Polyscias filicifolia brings a fine, fern-like texture to indoor spaces with divided foliage carried on an upright, narrow framework that stays elegant rather than heavy. Juvenile leaves are especially airy and dissected, giving this rare aralia a softer silhouette than broader-leaved Polyscias forms. It works well in bright rooms where vertical greenery is wanted without the mass of a large shrub.
Keep it in bright, indirect light, use a draining yet lightly moisture-retentive mix, and water once the upper layer has dried. With steady care, it develops into a refined indoor tree with strong collector appeal.
