Polyscias scutellaria 'Fabian' grows as a compact indoor shrub with rounded, glossy, deep green leaves and rich purple undersides that add a darker second layer of colour. Its stout stems and naturally tidy outline give it a more architectural look than finer-leaved Polyscias forms, so it works well as a low-maintenance indoor tree for shelves, corners, or grouped tropical displays.
Give it bright, indirect light, an airy substrate, and evenly controlled watering, and it settles into a strong, sculptural presence without needing constant pruning.
