Strelitzia nicolai 'Variegata' combines the scale and upright tropical structure of white bird of paradise with broad creamy-white striping and sectoral variegation across its huge leaves. Because the species already carries major architectural weight, the added variegation turns each leaf into a genuine statement rather than a subtle detail. It needs strong light, space, and patience, as variegated forms grow more slowly, but over time it can become one of the most dramatic foliage plants in a bright room.
A heavy stable pot, rich but draining substrate, and consistent watering are essential. Best for growers who want a high-ceiling focal plant with rare coloration and are willing to give it the conditions it demands.
