Tillandsia caerulea is a small to medium air plant with a fine silvery-green rosette and unusually soft blue flowers that make it stand out among species better known for pink or violet bloom tones. It grows in cool, humid Andean forests, so it prefers bright filtered light, steady airflow, and more regular moisture than the driest silver Tillandsia, though it still needs to dry fully after watering.
Mounted on cork, wood, or another open support, it stays elegant and light, gradually forming offsets after flowering rather than sprawling wildly. Good soaking, careful drying, and temperatures roughly between 15 – 27 °C keep it looking fresh, while dark corners and stale humid displays usually lead to dull colour, weak growth, and eventual crown problems.
