Tillandsia seleriana is a bulbous air plant with a thick frosted base and arching silver-green leaves, giving it a dense sculptural profile that looks substantial even when the plant is still compact. The swollen body stores some moisture, but like other Tillandsia it still needs periodic soaking or rinsing followed by complete drying, especially around the crevices where trapped water can cause rot.
Bright filtered light, strong airflow, and open mounting on wood, cork, or stone suit it better than decorative containers that stay humid and enclosed.
In time it may colour slightly before flowering and later produce offsets, making it a good long-term species for growers who want an air plant with obvious form and a more unusual silhouette. Drying fast is crucial.
