Tradescantia pallida 'Pink Stripe' takes the deep purple base of purple-heart tradescantias and adds bright pink striping that becomes strongest in good light. The leaves are long and lance-shaped, the stems trail quickly, and the plant works best in hanging baskets or where the coloured foliage can spill over the edge instead of crowding other compact plants.
It prefers bright indirect light with some gentle sun, a free-draining mix, and watering after the soil dries a little, since permanently wet pots weaken both colour and root health. Warm conditions keep it growing strongly, but like other Tradescantia the sap can irritate skin and should be kept away from pets or children that are likely to chew it. Tip pinching keeps it dense and more balanced.
