Tradescantia sillamontana 'Gold Stripes' combines the speciesâ fuzzy, silver-haired leaves with creamy to yellow striping, so it gives both texture and variegation in one trailing plant. Growth starts more upright, then softens into a cascade, and the hairy leaf surface makes it look noticeably different from smoother Tradescantia types even when the plant is still small.
It prefers brighter light than many humidity-loving relatives, along with a very well-draining mix and a watering rhythm that lets the substrate dry between drinks rather than staying constantly wet. That slightly drier handling fits its semi-succulent nature, and regular tip pinching helps keep the stems denser and the striped foliage more evenly displayed. Tip pinching keeps it fuller.
