Yucca rostrata forms a dense spherical crown of narrow blue-grey leaves that sits atop a stout trunk over time, creating one of the most sculptural silhouettes among dry-climate plants. Growth is slow, especially in containers, but the plant keeps a strong, symmetrical shape if given full sun or the brightest possible indoor placement. Use a heavy pot with very fast drainage, water deeply but infrequently, and allow the mix to dry almost completely before watering again.
Dry air suits it well, while humidity and waterlogged substrate are far more likely to cause decline than drought. Outdoors it is notably cold hardy in dry soil, but in pots the same rule applies: moisture around the roots during cool conditions is the main risk. For collectors, the value lies in its precise form, colour, and long-lived structure.
